Daxa Shah – Co-ordinator
Born in India, Daxa has been a student and teacher of meditation for over 20 years. Her diverse cultural experiences helping to run meditation centres in Bombay, Dubai and Vancouver, help her to serve the multi-cultural populations of Brent, Watford and St. Albans. Daxa balances determination and organisational skills with gentleness, honesty, respect and sweetness. Area of special interest: Team-working with other community-based organisations to develop unity in a multicultural society.
Kathy Grant
Kathy enjoys nature and studying the spiritual way of life; Raja Yoga meditation which she has practised for over 13 years, has made sense of her journey and given her life purpose. Kathy, originally from Ireland, has been a part of the Inner Space team for more than 10 years. As an all-rounder, she can be found in any of the departments and always feels fortunate whenever and wherever she is helping like-minded spiritual travellers.
Shankar Rajappa
Shankar’s passion is to share spiritual themes with others. Originally from Ooty in Southern India – this very special Tamil teacher is always busy at Inner Space. He has practised Raja Yoga meditation for 16 years and travelled through India on an exhibition bus, taking meditation classes to the village. Shankar also enjoys walking in nature, dancing, music and exercise.
Ela Suzin
Ela is from Warsaw but has lived in London for over 30 years. She has travelled extensively and lived in the Middle East. Well known for being a loving, kind and determined individual, she is also very creative and a wonderful cook. Raja Yoga meditation has been a mainstay of Ela’s life since 1982 and she has served the Polish community in the UK as a teacher and organiser of public programs. At Inner Space, she is involved with the Women’s Empowerment Group. Ela has one daughter and as a family person enjoys spending time with her little granddaughter Emilia.
Bernice Amarh
Raja Yoga has been Bernice’s chosen lifestyle for 25 years. Originally from Ghana, she lives in London, teaches meditation, and spends time with her grandchildren. Bernice enjoys working in Inner Space’s shop where she can meet people, share her experience of a positive lifestyle in an increasingly negative world and encourage their spiritual understanding. Bernice says: my life has changed through exploring spirituality and this helps calm my hyperactive grandson; there is definite benefit in a practical, compassionate, spiritual life.
